If you’re anything like me you’re juggling a lot of things to do– tasks that you need to get done but you can’t at the moment. Effort that needs to happen, but not right now. Sometimes it’s overwhelming just thinking of things you need to get done or want to get done, at least that’s how I feel from time to time.
Quite a while ago I discovered this great slant on To Do Lists. It’s from Esther and Jerry’s Hick’s book “Ask and It is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires.” Instead of one list, you make two. One has on it the things that you will actually accomplish that day. You can call it “Things to Do Today.” These are the things that you can truly get done today.
The other list, right next to it, or on another sheet of paper goes under the heading “Things I would like the Universe to Do.” It includes everything else– the things that you need to get done this week, or tomorrow, but can’t get to today, the bigger projects that you have no idea when you will get to, even life goals or accomplishments.
I love this practice. I frequently do it at night– when suddenly I think of a lot of things I want or need to get done but don’t have the time to do right then. Putting them on the Universe’s To Do list feels like such a relief to me. It’s two-fold. I’m noting to myself and the Universe that I want these things accomplished. And I’m putting into the hands of the Unseen who can help behind the scenes. It feels like such a relief. Give it a shot and see what you think.
