I'm ready to enhance & trust my intuition! What is Intuition University?

Parents do you know this (or these) SUPER helpful book(s) for understanding the way your child works?

When I discovered this book I felt like I had HIT THE JACKPOT! Seriously, I understood more about my son and how to handle/manage/care for him after 30 minutes with this book than I had in the previous two years.

And don’t worry, “You don’t even have to read the whole thing,” the parent educator on our island assured me.  “You only need a few paragraphs or so out of the book – so it’s okay if you don’t have time to read it.” It’s true, once you answer some questions and ascertain the temperament of your child you can just skip to the sections that discus him or her.

Temperament Tools: Working with Your Child’s Inborn Traits by Helen Neville.  I got it from the library.  A few weeks later I was ordering it because I knew I had to have it in my back pocket (you know, where I keep all my happy making tools).

I loved it so much.  When I read the sentence that went something like “Parents of these children are EXHAUSTED by the end of the day because….” I also felt understood.  It was so eye-opening for me.  And it has given me good tools and techniques that greatly help me manage my family, but even more importantly help understand my son and his needs particularly.  It never ceases to amaze me how just understanding something can equal improvement.

While we’re on this subject:

I’m also just starting Raising Your Spirited Child: A Guide For Parents Whose Child Is More Intense, Sensitive, Perceptive, Persistent, and Energetic. Well, I’m perusing it, in the manner I do.  You know if you need that one just by the title itself.  It’s by Mary Sheedy Kercinka and I’ve also already found it quite helpful.

Another of my other favorites that I reference from time to time is, Siblings Without Rivalry: How to Help Your Children Live Together So You Can Live Too by Adele Faber.

So put that (or these) in your back pocket Mama’s and Pappas.  Or on your bookshelf, easily accessible for those times when you feel like you’re needing a little extra support.

Love,

Aimée
