Intuitive Tools for the Revolution
Remember that song “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised?” It’s a slogan that plays over and over in my head these days. We are in the midst of something huge. Starting with our health and our livelihoods and the way we consume, moving into the way we treat black people (and those of color) or those whose sexual orientation or expression does not match our own, to the insufficiencies of the police and institutions and who are charged to protect, and of course the ever present question of how we move forward in a way that can and will sustain the planet on which we live. Great and deep wounds are being visibly broken open again—I pray– in order to be fully healed.
I’ve been pondering this from so many angles over the last few months. And to tell you the truth I feel hopeful. I see BIG changes afoot, even within questions like racial equity that feel like they should have been addressed centuries ago. I see white people, myself included, investigating, taking stock and responsibility for how we have been contributing to these injustices even sometimes without knowing it. I see deep dives and conscious attention being put by many on so many subjects that we have previously ignored. I feel grateful to be alive right now– bearing witness to and contributing to the work of being a good ancestor (as Layla Saad so aptly puts it). I feel committed to doing my part and as I see it part of that is also serving all of you.
I am seeing that most of us are right now filled with more questions than answers. That is a good place to be. From my perspective, once you’ve got a question, the answer is on its way.
I recently had the opportunity to talk with Liz Peterson on her Raise the Vibe radio show about that subject especially. About how we cope in a time where there is so much unknown—about what we can do to make our way through one step at a time. And about how we even discover what steps we need to take. In our conversation, I outlined the whole process that I use to get answers (also the subject of my book, “Getting Answers: Using Your Intuition to Discover Your Best Life”). It’s a process seers like myself have been using for eons. And it’s simple actually. So simple ANYONE can use it– for any question!
There are soooooooo many questions right now.
Questions like:
What steps do I need to take to stay healthy?
How can I positively contribute to my community and those in need during this pandemic?
How can I create financial stability for my family?
How can I get the alone time I need to rejuvenate when I am surrounded by my family night and day? Or how can I thrive in a current world where I have little to no physical connection with anyone?
What is the best way for me to help my kids learn or be home all the time with less arguing and more fulfillment?
What is the best way that I can contribute to healing this GIGANTIC problem of racial disparity/inequity?
How can I personally help right racial inequities?
What actions can I take to solve the challenges our world is facing?
What actions do I need to prioritize right now?
With so many unknowns and honestly with the news changing week to week or depending on who you ask— it’s vital, now more than ever that we each start attuning to our own inner knowing. This is the knowing that allows YOU whoever you are to take the best next step—to do what you need to do for your life and depending on what you are asking toward contributing to the greater whole. It’s the knowing that is your soul’s compass.
One person, one organization, one nation, cannot solve these things alone. It’s going to take the collective. It’s going to take each of us wherever we are doing what it is that we do best, or doing what we can to contribute to the whole.
In this time of great uncertainty and rich and fertile transformation I want to remind you all that answers are possible for YOU and for us collectively.
Check out my discussion with Liz, or get my book (you can download the first part for free here) if you need to know how to get your answers.
All my love,
