Sunflowers! And other garden goodness.
|Just for the joy of it.
Our yard produces the most abundant and sweetly satisfying things– even when we neglect it for long periods of time (thank god).
This last weekend was “home weekend” at our house. Translation, “yard maintenance weekend.” Between this and that, Paris (which I will post about sometime), and other trips, events and major happenings, we haven’t had a full weekend at home for a couple of months. This last weekend, was that weekend for us. We scheduled (almost) nothing. Our yard maintenance was such satisfying medicine.
We weeded beds, picked veggies, harvested fruit, cut flowers (well I always do that), made an outside prayer and gratitude alter in honor of my friend who died and his wife and daughters, took back our greenhouse from weeds (AGAIN!), mowed the lawn (well he did), you know… that stuff.
My favorite part was this little moment of magic with my two of my naked gardeners (previously mentioned here and here), and one of our majestic sunflower patches. Having fresh flowers on hand for cutting and giving away is one of my favorite parts of summer/ fall. Once again, our sunflowers did NOT disappoint.
Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.
Love,
Aimée
